Town Hall Meetings (THM) were held in Shaki, Lenkoran, Sumgayit, Ganja and Tar tar cities in July -December within the framework of Public Education and Outreach Program on State Program held under financial support of USAID and World Learning Inc. and SPPREAD Secretariat.

Regional meetings covering public representatives from Sheki, Lenkoran, Sumgayit, Ganja and Terter cities and other close areas, were attended by 303 participants. The meetings were also attended by representatives of International and local organizations.

During meetings head and experts of SPPRED Secretariat provided information about education campaign in SPPRED implementation stage, civil society role in alternative monitoring process, monitoring process in SPPRED implementation stage, as well as Millennium Development Goals (MDG) within SPPRED, and answered questions which public representatives are interested in.

In regional meetings held in Shaki, Lenkoran, Sumgayit, Ganja, Tar tar cities the meeting participant held joint discussions on sectors Investment and Economical Development, Municipality, refugees and IDPs, Social Protection, Health, Education, Legal reforms and Energy.

During 2-day discussions, meeting participants presented their suggestions on events envisaged in the Program.

"Such meetings create an opportunity for us to get closely acquainted with problems of the public. The main point is, we hear the problems not sitting in our cabinets, but getting into direct contact with population".
