Outcomes and achievements:
- Awareness-raising activities were carried out in 43 communities related to communities’ more sustainable and safer management/utilization of their environmental and energy issues. Awareness-raising activities were realized through demonstrations of a mobile Energy Bus, during which a large screen monitor installed outside of the Energy Bus demonstrated Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, goal and objectives of the Caspian Energy Center, community projects implemented under the support of BP, as well as Environment, Ecology and management of daily wastes, and films dedicated to alternative energy units. Moreover, the community members got acquainted with models of alternative energy units and equipment through visiting the sections within the Energy Bus;
- Environment/Ecology, Alternative Energy and Safety» trainings were provided to the pupils of 5-11th forms in 36 secondary schools. 1234 schoolchildren participated in these training sessions;
- Drawing and story contests on «Environment, Ecology, Effective usage of energy and Safety» were organized among the pupils of 35 schools where training sessions had been arranged. 479 schoolchildren from Yevlakh, Agdash, Tovuz and Akstafa regions participated in these contests. Contest participants presented 267 stories and 281 drawings to the contests. 7 drawings and 6 stories were selected as basic winners from among the submitted ones, and 33 drawings and 14 stories were awarded with encouraging prizes. The winner drawings and stories were published on "Shakar Villasi" newspaper;
- Photo Voltic Model and Solar Panel were installed in 3 medical stations and in surgery department of 1 rural hospital active in regions for the purpose of getting access to electricity and warm water; in order to receive an electricity from solar energy, Photo Voltic Models were installed upon 2 water purification devices serving for provision of the population of regions with potable water; In order to promote safety, «Rehabilitation of a bridge» and «Fencing a school-yard» projects were implemented in 2 communities.
