The THM was held under the support of USAID, World Learning, UNDP, GTZ and SPPRED Secretariat by local NGOs of "Umid” Humanitarian and Social Support Center ("Umid” HSSC) and "Simurg” Association of Azerbaijan Culture ("Simurg” AAC).
The aim of the THM was to provide information about the progress of the Program, to organize opinion sharing in a direction of improvement of the implementation and efficiency of events put forward by the Government on various sectors envisaged in the Program, generally, to organize effective dialog between civil society and central Implementation Agencies.
Head and Experts of SPPRED Secretariat provided information about education campaign and monitoring process in SPPRED implementation stage, as well as Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and civil society role in alternative monitoring process within the framework of SPPRED, and answered questions in which public representatives are interested in. 
Meeting participants arranged discussions on 4 sectors – Ecology and Tourism, Energy, Social Protection and Education. Leaders of Sector Working Groups provided information to participants about events envisaged in and conducted within the framework of the program on various sectors and took part at the discussions. 
During 2-day discussions, meeting participants presented their suggestions on events envisaged in the Program.
82 people took part at the meeting including public representatives from Shemakha, Gobustan, Agsu and Ismayilly regions.
Besides, representatives of World Learning, UNDP, UNICEF and head and experts of SPPRED Secretariat took part at the meeting.
The next SPPRED/MDGs THM will be arranged in Shaki on July 29-30, 2004.
