On February 21st 2022, two meetings were held with focus groups in "Gobu Park” residential complex, Lokbatan settlement, Garadagh district. The meeting was organized within the project titled "Organizing Awareness-Raising Activities on Healthy Lifestyle and Preventive Measures on Substance Abuse at the Community Level” with the financial support of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The event was attended by 36 people (15 women, 21 men), including parents, teachers of the secondary schools operating in the target area, the representatives of the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs, chairman of the Council of Elders, teenagers and young adults.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the topic with focus groups, to gain their support in the implementation of the project, to identify ways of the spread of drug use and to collect proposals for prevention of them and to develop an action plan based on the proposals. During the event, detailed information was provided about the project, discussions were held on a healthy lifestyle, substance use and suggestions were made. The chairman of the Council of Elders for IDP communities resided in the area spoke about the considerable damage caused by bad habits, also emphasized the consequences of youth substance abuse, its health-related problems, its impacts on society and gave some useful advice.
The meeting attenders representing the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs stated that favourable conditions had been created in the "Gobu Park" residential complex for young people to spend their leisure time effectively, and expressed their full support for the project activities.
