An event called "Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences: new stage and modern tasks" was held in the "Shusha" hall of the Central Scientific Library of ANAS, dedicated to March 27 - Science Day.The management of ANAS, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Council of Elders of Azerbaijan, the Confederation of Azerbaijan Trade Unions, ANAMA, representatives of parliament and the scientific community took part in the event.
The event started with the introductory speech of the president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli on "Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences: time and modernity". Academician Isa Habibbeyli recalled that March 27 - Science Day was established in our nation per President Ilham Aliyev's Decree dated April 9, 2018, and claimed that this important day belonged not only to ANAS but also to scientific research institutes operating under the ministries of Science and Education, Health, Economy, Agriculture, and other ministries, as well as to all scientific institutions and universities of the republic.
The head of ANAS expressed his deep gratitude to the head of the country for his attention and care to the science of Azerbaijan.
Then there was a screening of the film "Temple of Science" dedicated to the Academy.
MPs, representatives of ANAS and the scientific community were among those who spoke at the event.
In the end, a number of scientists distinguished by their scientific activities within the framework of the Science Day were awarded honorary degrees of the Council of Elders of Azerbaijan and the Confederation of Azerbaijan Trade Unions, badges, "Record in reference" of ANAS, "For services in the popularization of science", "Labor veteran's certificate", "Young scientist of the year" diploma" awards and letters of thanks "for a successful report" were presented.
