On October 15, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, raised the National Flag of Azerbaijan in the city of Khojavand. Following the flag-raising ceremony, the head of state inspected the city's area.It's worth noting that Khojavend was occupied by Armenian armed forces on October 2, 1992. However, following local anti-terrorist operations conducted by the Azerbaijani Army in Karabakh on September 19-20, 2023, the city was successfully liberated from separatist control.
