On November 7, 2023, at the secondary school No. 280, named after M. Mehdiyev in Hovsan settlement, Baku, the "Music and Drama” and "Art and Culture” clubs, created as part of the "Enhancing Public and Social Engagement Among Students through the Improvement of Social Welfare Environments" project, implemented by the "Umid" Support to Social Development Public Union ("Umid" SSD PU) with financial support from the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) of the Republic of Azerbaijan,  hosted a literary and artistic performance in honor of Victory Day. After playing our National Anthem and honoring the memory of our martyrs, schoolchildren presented compositions depicting wartime scenes and celebrating victory, accompanied by heartfelt recitations of poems. The event brought together the school’s teaching staff, students, parents, and community representatives. Notably, Irada Alimova, our school’s physics teacher and the mother of Elvin Nasreddin Alimov, the Second Lieutenant in the Azerbaijan Armed Forces and a martyr of the Second Karabakh War, was among the participants. Elvin Alimov courageously fought in the battles for the liberation of Jabrayil and Fuzuli during the Second Karabakh War, initiated by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on September 27, 2020, to reclaim territories held by Armenia. Tragically, he made the ultimate sacrifice during the liberation of Fuzuli on September 28.

The primary aim of this project, initiated in August of this year, is to empower students and their interest-based groups, enabling them to identify and prioritize their challenges collectively. The project intends to establish a minimum of four groups or clubs, such as "Filmmakers and Photography," "Art and Culture," "Literature and Poetry," "Eco Club," and "Music and Drama," among others.
