On February 24, the presentation ceremony of the feature-documentary film "13," created by the Head of the "Objective" Public Union for the Support of National Values, took place at the Nizami Cinema Center. The film, delving into the unknown fate of 13 missing individuals from Khojaly, was crafted with the financial support of the State Support Agency for NGOs.
Aygun Aliyeva, the executive director of the agency, emphasized that prioritizing the issue of prisoners, hostages, and missing persons in relevant NGO projects is one of their main focuses.
Eldar Samadov, the representative of the State Commission for Captives and Missing Citizens, stated that the search for the missing will persist until the fate of the last individual is determined. Notably, 13 mass graves have been discovered in areas liberated from occupation.
Mubariz Asgarov, the chairman of the "Objective" Public Union for the Support of National Values, TV journalist, and screenwriter, highlighted the dedicated efforts of the professional team over the course of months in creating the documentary film.
Elchin Elkhanli, the film's director, shared insights into the gravity of the Khojaly genocide and the consolation and hope brought by the historic Victory.
The film sheds light on the events that unfolded in Khojaly in February 1992. Following the Khojaly genocide, a group of civilians, after hiding in the forest for two days, were surrounded and taken hostage in the direction of Dahraz village. Subsequently, they were transported to a farm in that village, where Armenian war criminals brutally tortured civilians. Thirteen young people were selected from among the hostages kept in the farm and taken to an unknown destination. To this day, there is no news about these 13 individuals.
Speakers at the presentation ceremony emphasized the significant need for professionally developed NGO projects, audiovisual works, and artistic and documentary films addressing the topic of missing persons.
The film is scheduled to be broadcast on February 26 at 21:00 on AZTV. Additionally, the English version of the film will be showcased in foreign countries during these days.
