"Umid” Support to Social Development Public Union began to implement 1-year "Vocational training and income generation for IDPs and refugees in Azerbaijan” project under financial support of the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration of the United States Department of State.
Purpose of this project is to develop vocational skills and create income generation for IDPs and refugees in Azerbaijan, to foster increased self-reliance of IDPs and UNHCR-registered refugees settled in Baku and Sumgait.
During the project, Umid plans to cover a total of 1,330 direct beneficiaries: 600 refugees in Baku and 730 IDPs in Sumgait. Considering indirect beneficiaries, the ultimate number of beneficiaries is expected to reach 4,000. "Umid” Support to Social Development Public Union will carry out measures like organization of apprenticeship courses, computer, business training and counseling, as well as provision of free Internet in this field and the people who received these trainings will be awarded with JSEP grants.
As a result, entrepreneurs will get opportunities to start their businesses, to promote production and sale of products in accordance with local circumstances, accurately to calculate value of the products, income and profit, to engage in production and service; skills and capacities of the entrepreneurs will raise on developing business plans, describing their businesses, preparing credit documents and receiving credits, improving stock-taking in their entreprices and calculating their economical indicators accurately, developing registration documents and registration, preparing accurate tax accounts and improving their organizational framework, planning and supervision.
