"Initiative to increase energy efficiency in communities” project started to be implemented by OSCE/Baku office from July 2011 within the framework of Civic Action for Security and Environment (CASE) and financed by Statoil and Governments of Austria, Canada and United States.

The project covers Samukh and Goranboy regions communities in July-December 2011 and aimed at promotion and building capacity on innovative technologies and approaches to effective energy use in target communities.

As a result of the project implementation,audit of current energy use situation at least in 10 business entities, 3-5 public buildings and 10 private households will be carried out; audit objects capacities on energy efficiency will be checked out; to enhance capacity building and awareness raising, 25 trainings and 50 consultation sessions for the target audience on 5 topics will be organized and 5 training packages will be elaborated.As well as literacy and awareness of target audiences and entities will be enhanced;private and business entities will gain new skills to mitigate power expenditures; reinforce competitive abilities and sustainability, efficient use of energy resources will be achieved.
