Outcomes & Achievements:

• Water purification units were installed in 11 communities (Kurdamir – Sigirli, Karrar village, Karrar settlement, Atakishili, Chohranli, Ujar – Bargushad, Gulabend, Alpout, Garabork, Teze Shilyan and Agdash – Orta Leki) for the purpose of improvement of potable water provision and thus, 20000 community members had an access to safe potable water;
• «Water we drink», «Protection of water sources from pollution and exhaustion», «Drink pure water» and «Water is a base of life» booklets were prepared for the purpose of raising awareness of the population about clear water. Though these booklets, 13 269 community members raised their awareness about potable water, its purification, sources polluting the natural water, composition of polluted water, ways of protection of water sources from pollution with daily wastes, as well as quality and importance of water purified though water purification devices installed in communities.
• Schoolchildren took an active part in awareness-raising activities. 4 pupils of Atakishili and Teze Shilyan rural schools were awarded with valuable presents and diplomas, and 9 pupils – with diplomas for their activity during awareness-raising activities;
• 8 LLCs were founded in order to promote sustainability of water purification units installed in communities, organize sale of water, promote transparent and effective usage of income made through the sale of water;
• «Management and its basic principles» training and consultation hours were arranged for LLC members in order to build their commercial capacity and skills;
• 257 vulnerable families, populated in the communities where water purification devices had been installed, were provided with 139.5 tons of water free of charge by LLCs;
• Communities’ needs for increasing their organizational and institutional skills were identified, CAG members, Municipality and local ExCom representatives were involved in «Project Proposal Writing», «Management and Supervisory Skills», «Information Management» and «Effective Presentation» training sessions, consultation hours on «Project Proposal Writing» were organized in every community.
