We fervently hope that this recently established platform will contribute to increasing transparency in the performance of government bodies, improving accountability, strengthening public participation and implementing social innovations in the fight against corruption in the region.
Local representative offices of the “Government-Civil Society Dialogue Platform on Promotion of Open Government” are formed in the regions
Establishment of close cooperation with all stakeholders, including
Municipalities, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), NGOs,
"Government-Civil Society Dialogue Platform on Promotion of Open Government",
central and local ExComs has been one of key factors for the success of the
project titled "Expanding application of the principles of openness,
transparency and accountability through further strengthening the role of civil
society institutions in public life” implemented by "Umid” Support to Social
Development Public Union under the Empowering Civil Society Organizations for
Transparency (ECSOFT) program funded by USAID Azerbaijan Mission. Business
collaboration was also established with the Guba NGO Training and Resource
Center (GTRC) which carried out "Increasing transparency and public
engagement opportunities in municipalities" project within ECSOFT program.
All the possibilities of formation and management of the Local Level
"Government-Civil Society Dialogue Platform on Promotion of Open
Government" in Guba-Khachmaz region were thoroughly discussed during a
number of meetings with the GTRC management as collaboration continued.
Based on its expertise in the development of public participation and
civil society in the regions, "Umid" SSD created the Local Level
"Government-Civil Society Dialogue Platform on Promotion of Open
Government" for the first time in Guba-Khachmaz region within the scope of
the ongoing project. The platform, which includes members from 2 local NGOs, 4 government
bodies, 4 local Municipalities and 4 Community Development Councils from Guba,
Khachmaz, and Gusar rayons, will be coordinated by the director of the GTRC,
Eynulla Kheyrullayev.
