A meeting with teachers, parents, students and community representatives was organized on February 23, 2023, at the secondary school No. 262 located in Turkan settlement, Baku as part of the project "Initiative to improve the school’s reputation through the development of the school community” carried out by "Umid” Support to Social Development Public Union ("Umid” SSD) and T-NETWORK, an educators’ experience and communication platform, with funding from the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and technical support from Baku city Education Department. Teachers, students, parents, and community representatives were elected as members of the School Development Council during the meeting.

A conference on "Heydar Aliyev and civil society building” was held in Nakhchivan.
In connection with the 100th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev, 250 representatives from trade unions, non-governmental organizations (chairman of "Umid" Social Development Support Public Union Israyil Isgandarov was among the participants), media organizations, elders and veterans’ organizations visited Nakhchivan with the organization of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).
The trip started with a visit to the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Then the guests got acquainted with the Heydar Aliyev Museum. The museum provided extensive information about the rich life and activities of the Great Leader.
Within the framework of the visit, a conference on "Heydar Aliyev and civil society building” was held in the Heydar Aliyev Palace in Nakhchivan city in connection with the "Year of Heydar Aliyev”. The conference was attended by representatives of civil society institutions operating in our country, representatives of the public, and heads of relevant state institutions.
At the event, the memories of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, our martyrs and those who died as a result of the earthquake in brother Turkey were commemorated with a minute’s silence, and the National Anthem was played.

Random Acts of Kindness Day was first initiated in 1995 in Denver, Colorado by a nonprofit organization called The Random Acts Of Kindness Foundation. The event spread to New Zealand nine years later, in 2004, and the observance of the holiday became more and more widespread and today it is a significant worldwide holiday.

"Umid" SSD launches a new project for internally displaced persons with UNHCR’s support
"Umid” Support to Social Development Public Union has begun to implement the project titled "IDP Community Mobilization and Capacity Development in Mingachevir, Goranboy, and Yevlakh” funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as of February 1, 2023. The duration of the project is 11 months. Following a rapid assessment of 12 communities densely populated by IDPs in Mingachevir, Goranboy, and Yevlakh, 6 communities will be selected as project target areas.
The aims of the project are to strengthen the capacity of existing IDP communities to increase their resilience and prepare them to cope with the challenges of the forthcoming return process, inter alia, through Participatory Community Development and Apprenticeship methods.

The chairmen of a group of NGOs operating in Azerbaijan, following the devastating earthquake in Turkiye registered magnitude 7.7 at 04:17 in Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş province, followed by another of 7.6 dozens of miles away in Elbistan district at 1:24 p.m, laid flowers in front of the Turkish Embassy in Baku to show solidarity with the fraternal country and honor the memory of those who lost their lives.
